Best rojak at Dover Crescent

This is by far the best rojak that we have eaten. It is near our area, and with ample parking spaces at the multi-storey carpark. The problem with the most of the rojak is

  1. Fried dough fritters not crispy
  2. Too much sugar
  3. Too much sauce – causing the fried fritters to be soggy after being in it for a while

When you order from this uncle or auntie, then that is the time they start to toast the fried dough fritters, ensuring the freshness of this dish. For us, we only choose fried dough fritters and turnip, as both are crispy, one hot one cold. It is by far the best combination we have tried and tested. Also, we ordered non spicy version so that the chilli will not cover the original taste of the prawn paste. Somehow, they do not add a lot of sugar which over powers the natural sweetness of the turnips, or do they add too much peanuts to fight for crispiness of the fried dough fritters.

There are other stalls here we have tried.

  1. Curry fishhead – no recollection of how it tasted but it was not fantastic
  2. The famous XO fishhead beehoon – not good at all, we usually order the Har Cheong Gai (Prawn Paste Chicken) and the San Lou Hor Fun (with fish slices), goes well with beer 🙂
