Review on Nuova Simonelli Oscar II Espresso Machine

Nuova Simonelli Oscar II

This is how it all started. I have been coffee since I started working. I like the aroma, the roast and the grinding of the beans. So about 2 years ago, I started my "investment" on a coffee machine.

I bought Nespresso as there was lots of marketing and so many types of beans that I can choose. Hence I got my first machine and it was a very nice red colour and fitted nicely on my kitchen table top. After some time, I realised that I was kind of tied to only buying their capsules and not able to buy any other type of beans that I like. I was frustrated as I had to pay S$1 per capsule and I was not able to find a cheaper source of capsules, except to buy from overseas. I also had to keep searching for suppliers who would bring those capsules over to Singapore and sell.

Then I saw this advertisement giving free coffee machine upon buying 20 boxes of capsules. Cheap capsules I thought, so ahead I went to get the 20 boxes of capsules, and got a free machine. Cheap capsules = cheap coffee ! Lots of sugar and if I put more water, it dilutes the coffee and the milk. That was a short period of time that I owned a Gusto.

I then decided I will go for a more professional espresso machine that makes cappuccino and espresso at the click of a button, and it grinds the coffee beans to the coarseness I want.
